Help us put an end to companion animal cancer!!

From Jo & Barry, "Grizz's" Mommy and Daddy.....

Excerpt from Grizz's Story. "When we were first told that Grizz had cancer, we reacted as anyone would. The first impression you have is that it is an immediate "death sentence" but we decided to fight back with everything we had. It is important to remember that after the initial shock there may be options open to you and your pet. I found an incredible amount of information and support on the Internet. Check with your Veterinarian and don't be afraid to get another opinion from an expert in the field of Oncology. Research is being expanded every day and new treatments options are being developed which can make this disease more treatable if not curable. Yes, it can be expensive and not everyone can afford it but a lot of facilities also offer trials which can help minimize the costs. This is a very personal and individual decision. In our case, it was not a question of money as much as it was a question of maintaining Grizz's quality of life. He was a member of our family and we did what we had to do to make sure that he got the treatment that he needed. Not everyone is in a position to do that. We also took into consideration the fact that Grizz was otherwise healthy and happy and had no underlying health conditions that would have endangered him. He had a strength and courage that you could see in his eyes."

Here is a list of the states and countries that Grizz's Story has made it to....  Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Illiniois, Arizona, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oregon, Michigan(lower), Iowa, Maryland, Washington, California, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Arizona, Colorado, Alaska, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, Maine, Utah, Massachusetts, UPPER Michigan, Idaho, ..... and England, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Australia....and now SOUTH AFRICA !!!

The excerpt below is Courtesy of Prisoners of Greed at  http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/

Quote: Hundreds of thousands of dogs suffer in puppy mills in this country. The dogs are prisoners of greed. They are locked in small cages. They freeze in the winter and swelter in the summer. The dogs never get out of their prisons. They are bred over and over again until they die. The only way to free them from the misery of these horrid puppymills is to eliminate the demand for puppies by refusing to buy a puppy in a pet store and boycotting those pet stores that sell puppies. When people stop buying puppies in pet stores, the puppy mills will go out of business and the misery will end. The state and federal governments do not enforce the laws to protect the dogs. The commercial breeders and brokers have huge well-funded lobbying efforts. Please join this fight to free the prisoners of greed. The only person who is going to make a difference for the dogs suffering in puppy mills is you. You, the people, can free them from their puppy mill prisons.

We have joined forces, not financially but in heart, with "Biting-back", an organization devoted to helping animals who are fighting cancer.  Please click on the ribbon above to visit their web site. We received one of their ribbons from the staff at UWSVM for Grizz which is proudly displayed on the frame of his memorial paw print.  That meant so much to us because with every purchase, a donation is made to help our pets fight cancer.
